Directors.

Cameron Duddy: One of the video I have looked at was directed by Cameron Duddy, although Cameron tends to direct more tv ads rather than music videos he has directed videos for artists such as Cody Simpson and Bruno Mars

The genre of music that this director specialises in would be pop music, this is because of the type of artists that they have directed videos for.

Another director that I looked at when looking through my chosen music videos was Peter Stengaard. Peter has directed videos for artists such as Ariana Grande, Jason Mraz and Joss stone.

Again I believe the genre of music that this director specialises in would be pop music due to the type of artists that they have directed videos for.

Futhermore I have also looked at the work of Director X. Director X has been a part of some very popular music videos and has gotten to work with some big artists such as Kanye West, Jay Z, R Kelly and Usher. 

This director seems to specialise in a different genre, that being RnB/hip-hop and rap due to the type of artists that they have directed videos for. 

What do I like about their work? 

I think the thing that I like the most about all of the directors' work that I have looked at is that their is such a range of videos such as narrative and performance etc. I also think that the work of all the directors I have looked at is very engaging and clever. Although I have chosen artists that have worked in different genres I think it would be really good if I could produce a video under the style of either of any of the directors.

what do I like about this video?
The reason I have chosen to include this video is because I like the way that it has been edited. For exampleI like the writing and drawing that has been edited onto the artist and the people in the video. I like the way this fits in with the lyrics and i feel that it also makes the video seem very fun and different.
I like the mise en scene that this music video also has. It seems to be one that is typical with that of a pop video however i feel that the way it has been edited gives it a different feel.

What do I like about this video?
I have chosen this video as again I like the way it has been edited, for example at the beginning of the video I like the way that the quick changes in the camera angles fit in the beat of the song. I also like the colour effect that the video has, for example it is of a blue/purple colour. I like the mise en scene of this video, I has an old theme to it, with the car and the way that the artist is dressed. Again with the editing I like the effect that the bright sun has and the way that most of the shots seem to be in a shadow effect.

What do I like about this video?
I like the mise en scene for this video, I like the place that the artist is in (a dessert) and I like the costumes. I like the costumes as I like all the jewellery and the overall feel the costumes have, I feel as though they fit in well with the theme of the music video, in making the artist and the gender the lyrics are aimed at seem strong and independent.I also really like the production that went into this video, for example I think that how many dancers there are in the video really adds to the overall effect.

What do I like about this music video?
Again I am mainly attracted to the editing when it comes to this video. I like the way the video has been edited to have a blue colour and I really like the use of the projector over the artist and the flashing colours, I think this is reallly effective and gives the video a fun feel. I also like the fact that when the projector is not on the artist, the background is a bright white colour. I feel that this is good as then you tend to focus on the artist and not what is going on around them and in the background of the video. Furthermore I think the quick cuts also fit in with the fun theme the video has.
